Dua Lipa just got engaged to actor Callum Turner — and she’s already celebrating another major and meaningful life moment.
The pop star took to Instagram to reveal she’s officially a citizen of Kosovo, sharing the news with the caption that she’s really “lovinggggg lifeeee.” The post featured a carousel of images, including a photo of the official presidential decree dated July 31, as well as snapshots from the Sunny Hill Festival — an annual music event in her parents’ hometown, Prishtina, Kosovo, that she cofounded in 2018 with her father, Dukagjin Lipa — and a steamy picture of her perched on Turner’s lap.
Born in London, Dua has long embraced her Kosovan-Albanian identity and said she feels like her “two sides are now one.”
“It completes the duality I have always had within,” Dua told the BBC. “I love this country and this means so much to me and my family.”

She moved with her parents to Kosovo to live for a brief time as a child and, in 2022, the “Levitating” singer was also granted Albanian citizenship.
The news of Dua’s Kosovan citizenship comes on the heels of her recent engagement to Fantastic Beasts star Turner, who consulted her close friends and sister before popping the question with a custom-designed ring. “I’m obsessed with it. It’s so me. It’s nice to know the person that you’re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well,” she told British Vogue.
But wedding planning isn’t top of Dua’s mind — yet. “Callum’s shooting, so we’re just enjoying this period,” said the “Dance the Night” singer, who celebrates yet another major life milestone, her 30th birthday, on August 22 and wraps her Radical Optimism tour in December. “I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be. All of a sudden, I’m like, ‘Oh, what would I wear?’”
For now, Dua gushes that she’s focused on just enjoying life with her new fiancé, Turner. “This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don’t know, be best friends forever – it’s a really special feeling.”
