DAWJunkie is offering RazorPluck Jr, a compact virtual synthesizer designed for crafting bright, expressive plucks — and it’s free for a limited time. The plugin is available for macOS and Windows.
Although RazorPluck Jr is a streamlined version of DAWJunkie’s forthcoming RazorPluck ($49) synth, it feels like a complete instrument.
Apart from a small Upgrade button tucked next to the filter section, nothing about it screams “lite version.” It’s a polished and super-intuitive pluck synth that’s accessible, even if this is your first time using a virtual instrument.

RazorPluck Jr focuses squarely on pluck-style sounds, from snappy EDM-style stabs to softer cinematic tones, but it offers enough tweakability to make each patch your own.
The sound section lets you sculpt timbre using Wave, Detune, Octave, Stereo Width, and Unison controls. I especially like the inclusion of Unison and Width; they make it easy to achieve those wide, fat pluck sounds that sound amazing with a bit of delay and reverb on top.
The Filter and Pluck sections handle tone and envelope shaping. By adjusting these, you can move between short, percussive plucks and gentler, more rounded tones.
Automating these parameters in your DAW can produce smooth transitions and some really cool evolving textures, which is perfect for build-up intros or breakdowns.
RazorPluck Jr also includes a simple but useful set of built-in effects. Delay and Reverb are each controlled by a single slider, and although that makes them super limited, at least it’s easy to dial in the right amount without menu diving.
You also get six additional one-click effects for adding a bit of color and texture. You get two types of distortion, two compressors, a flanger, and a chorus, all of which are simple on/off effects that aren’t customizable.
Up top, you’ll find a volume knob and a preset selector loaded with some solid starting sounds. I loved how the interface is easy to navigate and never feels cluttered.
