Cardi B has marked her return just in time for summer, dropping her new song “Outside” on Friday (June 20). The Bronx rapper declares that she’s ready to be back outside and appears to take aim at her soon-to-be ex-husband, Offset.
“Good-for-nothing, low-down dirty dogs, I’m convinced / Next time you see your mama, tell her how she raised a bitch,” she raps, later adding, “I been cuffed up too long, let me remind n***as.”
The lyrics also look to be a reference to her Invasion of Privacy album cut, “Thru the Phone,” which is about infidelity and trust issues. “I just want to break up all your shit / Call your mama phone, let her know that she raised a bitch,” Bardi raps on the track.
For a little context: at the time of her debut album release in April 2018, she and Set were newlyweds, having eloped in September 2017. Just a few months into their marriage, around December, rumors swirled that the Migos rapper was cheating on Cardi. The chatter around his infidelity continued even as she rolled out her album.
Cardi has since moved on—and that much has been clear in recent days. On “Outside,” she hints at her new man, Stefon Diggs.
“Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM, uh / I’m so small and tiny, he so big and tall / Might let him dunk this pussy like he dunk the ball,” she raps, before specifically naming his team.

“Heard them Patriots got them n***as, let me in the locker room,” she says. Diggs recently joined the New England Patriots.
Cardi also references LeBron and Savannah James, and A’ja Wilson in the track.
The mother of three filed for divorce from Offset last summer and seems to be turning the page this year with Diggs.
This week also saw her posting photos of her youngest daughter, Blossom for the first time.
“Outside” is Cardi’s first solo single of the year, following her appearance on the Smurfs Movie soundtrack and Pardison Fontaine’s “Toot It Up.”
