Adam Levine is (probably) done getting any new tattoos.
In a new interview with Today.com, the Maroon 5 vocalist opened up about his extensive body art collection, and admitted that he’s likely done adding to it. The latest ink he got was a touch-up on a sleeve he has on his left arm, and according to Levine, getting new tattoos is “fun” but a “painful” process.
“I covered up my sleeve with another sleeve. Who does that? What is wrong with me? Psychotic,” said Levine.
Despite his longtime love of tattoos, the singer said his last session wasn’t a pleasant one and decided that he’s “kind of done with the pain.”
“Now, I’ve softened,” he said. “Now, when I get a tattoo, I’m like, ‘This hurts so badly.'”

Levine added that despite having many, many tats to choose from, his favorite is “true love” written across his fingers. The fact that he has hand tattoos may come as a surprise to fans who remember Levine telling PEOPLE back in 2013 that his hands and legs were off-limits.
“I don’t do below the waist. You can’t do the hands, that’s sacred too, that’s what you make things with, I’m tied to my hands. I just can’t do hands,” he said back then. In that same 2013 interview, he also revealed his first tattoo was a dove on his upper left bicep.
“I was 21. It was five days after 9/11. I felt this need to say something with this peaceful thing on my body,” he recalled.
Another celebrity who has seemingly changed his tune about tattoos is Pete Davidson, who revealed earlier this year that he has already spent $200,000 to remove his ink, and the process is about 30 percent complete.
“It’s like putting your arm on a grill and burning off a layer, and then you gotta do maintenance and let it heal properly,” Davidson said in an interview with Variety. “And it’s pretty tough. It sucks, I’m not gonna lie.”
