Jay-Z has amended his defamation lawsuit against Tony Buzbee and Jane Doe, now claiming he lost hundreds of millions after he was accused of sexual assault.
Court documents obtained by independent reporter Meghann Cuniff say the rapper lost at least $190 million in income, credit, and loans due to the lawsuit filed by Tony Buzbee on behalf of Jane Doe. Doe accused Hov and Diddy of raping her in 2000, when she was 13 years old.
The revised complaint reveals that Jay “lost other contracts in the sports and entertainment space that would have generated revenues of, at least, $20 million,” which would have cost “many millions of dollars” more if the contract had been carried out.
The music mogul was also denied a $55 million personal credit line, and his 50 percent-owned consumer company, Roc Nation was denied a $115 million loan.
“We have agreements to produce entertainment programs for certain sporting events,” the complaint says. “After Mr. Buzbee filed the lawsuit, the media reported that other businesses could end their deals with Roc Nation, and forced one to speak out and address whether these false allegations would end our business relationship.”
In early March, Jay sued Doe for defamation after Buzbee voluntarily dismissed her sexual assault case in February. Jay also filed a defamation suit against Buzbee.
In a declaration filed in early February, Jay first alleged that her lawsuit led to a $20 million loss in income. This is the same filing where Jay-Z slammed Buzbee and Doe for moving forward with a “false lawsuit” and making “false public statements,” both of which he said affected his livelihood.
