Dave Blunts says he got “trapped” in an elevator while on tour, at one point going live during the incident and urging those watching to alert the artist formerly known as Kanye West to his predicament.
As seen in a smattering of clips that have since started making the rounds, Blunts, who captioned his livestream “I’m trapped in this elevator,” at one point playfully questioned the seriousness of his situation, like so: “Is this how it ends? I hope not.” Later, he mentioned Ye, with whom he has worked extensively in recent months.
“Call Ye, man,” Blunts said. “I need some help, bro. Somebody call Ye. Send this to Ye, man.”
Elsewhere, Blunts expressed frustration over being on the road (“I wanna go home”) before letting fans experience his rescue in real time. A fire official, seemingly from the Dallas area, is heard asking Blunts if he’s “like a celebrity,” prompting him to answer “something like that.” Blunts was understandably effusive in expressing his gratitude for the rescue team, all while the unfortunate turn of events was indeed being brought to Ye’s attention.
In a clip from a recent livestream appearance, Ye is seen mentioning the possibility of a call to the current president, though he appears to be joking.
“So with Dave, he’s locked in the elevator,” he said. “What we gonna do?”
