Yk Osiris Says Fear of ‘Humiliation’ Is Stopping Him From…

YK Osiris has admitted he hasn’t been releasing new music out of fear of “humiliation.”

During a recent live stream with Lil Rodney Son, Osiris opened up about how nervous he is about releasing new music. According to Osiris, his major fear is “humiliation. However, Lil Rodney Son gave him some advice to stay strong against those thoughts.

“Put it like this right, we in a world where like everybody else, don’t give a fuck, so you can’t,” said Lil Rodney.“It’s on the type of time where you care about what everybody else say you gonna always beat yourself up cause you’ll never be good for the next person’s standard.”

Lil Rodney told Osiris that he’ll be more comfortable releasing his music once he figures out how to turn off all the noise and criticism. The streamer even used himself as an example, describing how he’s able to laugh at his own pain and struggles,, which in turn allows the public to laugh with him.

Osiris also admitted that he wanted to quit music and jump into streaming, but Lil Rodney told him not to take the risk and jump into something that’s hard. He also took a jab, saying he’s not DDG, who became popular on streaming and rap.

Osiris broke onto the scene in 2018 with his single “Valentine,” which went platinum and landed him a deal with Def Jam Records. His follow-up single, “Worth It,” released in 2019, was an even bigger hit that peaked within the Top 50 of Billboard’s Hot 100 and his only charting single to date as a solo artist on the platform’s list.

He dropped his debut album, The Golden Child, in 2019, which received lukewarm reviews, and was dropped from Def Jam in 2022. Osiris’ latest album, Dear Fans, arrived in 2024 with little fanfare and zero chart presence. Despite having a steady musical output, it’s no secret that Osiris has struggled with catching the popularity he had with “Valentine” and “Worth It.”

Over the years, Osiris has gone viral for several moments that often had him looking foolish with other artists. In 2021, Drake made him sing “Worth It” to pay off a $60,000 bet, and a year later, Lil Baby jokingly pressed him for over $5,000 while he was shopping for jewelry.

Situations like that made Osiris a target for trolling on social media and it eventually led to him posting several alarming messages that had fans worried about his safety.

“God take me away, please,” he wrote in one of his Instagram Story posts. “I just want to sleep and don’t wake back up […] I know y’all would love that.”

He added, “Let’s see how everyone got something to laugh about then, it’s all fun and jokes till y’all don’t got nun to joke about no more.”
