The divorce between Xzibit and his wife of 11 years, Krista Joiner, continues to drag out in court. Nearly four years after Joiner filed for divorce, TMZ has reported that Xzibit, real name Alvin Joiner, wants to declare himself legally single amid divorce proceedings.
The estranged spouses are currently in negotiations over child and spousal support. The West Coast rapper has a 29-year-old son from a previous relationship named Tre Capital. He also shares two sons with his wife: Xavier, who was born prematurely in 2008 and died eleven days later, and Gatlyn, who is now 14. Xzibit and Joiner began dating in 2001.
Xzibit and his attorneys claim that they haven’t heard from Krista Joiner despite their multiple requests. In addition, the pending divorce is embroiled in financial drama. Earlier this year, during the Los Angeles wildfires, Krista requested $30,000 monthly in spousal support, in addition to claiming that she and her son were driven out of their home that costs $10,000 per month.
She petitioned that the rapper be found in contempt of court in January, claiming that the former Pimp My Ride host had not paid the December 2024 spousal and child support that the court had reportedly mandated.
“I am extremely concerned that I have no funds in case of an emergency, and during the present fire-related emergency,” Krista Joiner stated at the time, per InTouch Weekly. “[Xzibit] has proven that he will not assist, or even inquire to see if we need help, during this or any other emergency.”
