The free XM Series Mastering Bundle from Xilentch has received a fresh look and significant updates.
The plugins weren’t perfect from the get-go, which isn’t unusual for a new developer or free plugins/projects.
However, these Xilentch plugins ticked some very important boxes from day one: they showed real promise and came from a developer who welcomed and listened to user feedback.
The XMLimiter plugin was particularly well-received by users, and I’m sure these latest updates will be great news for many.
The first bit of good news is that the plugins remain free to download and are available in AU, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS and Windows.
The downloads are still hosted on Google Drive, but the install process should be smoother than before with a new official installer.
The developer has revisited the internal source code for the XM Series plugins and made algorithmic changes where necessary to improve each plugin’s performance from the ground up.
The XM Series mastering bundle currently includes:
- XMCompressor
- XMEQ
- XMLimiter
- XMTape&Clip
- XMTubePre
Xilentch has stated that XMVari will be added to that list very soon.
The most obvious update to this plugin collection is the redesigned interface.
I have to say, I love the new aesthetic; it’s sleek, minimalist, and functional.
The difference, compared to the old look, is night and day, and, while the new look is cool and modern, it’s in no way style over substance.
Xilentch is a professional with an impressive background in audio engineering, and given the progress of the XM Series so far, I’d suggest a bright future in this space is on the horizon.
While you can never please everyone, I cannot stress enough the importance of taking constructive feedback and using it positively, and that’s what Xilentch has done.
The offer ends on March 24, 2026, so grab it now and save yourself $66!
