Bringing the pointblank learning experience into VR
pointblank is among the first education partners to bring an industry-focused curriculum and expert guidance onto the Tribe XR platform. That means the same learning mindset we apply on campus: clear progression, practical skill-building, and guidance from our expert lecturers, now delivered through a fully immersive 3D environment.
A key part of this partnership is the learning experience itself. Pre-recorded lessons are delivered by Ben Bristow, Senior DJ Programme Leader, with Tribe XR and pointblank developing a VR DJ learning experience that features Ben’s teaching and music drawn from our own artist community. The tracks used for demonstrations and practise come from our in-house record label, pointblank Recordings, bringing an authentic energy into every exercise. You’re not just learning techniques in a vacuum; you’re learning them through real music and real timing, the way DJs actually work.
To help students build muscle memory and confidence, the pointblank x Tribe XR experience uses a gamified, ‘Guitar Hero-style’ method, complete with a beat highway that visually guides you through transitions, timing, and mixing techniques.
Pro-grade virtual gear, accessible anywhere 
One of the biggest barriers for new DJs is access to professional equipment. Tribe XR solves that by giving learners hands-on experience with a simulated, pro-grade DJ setup, so you can train on the kind of gear used in clubs and festivals, even if you don’t have regular access in real life. Users can access virtual DJ equipment from AlphaTheta, including the renowned CDJ-3000 and DJM-900NXS2 in virtual reality, no matter where they are.
