In their latest limited-time offer, you can now get IK Multimedia’s MixBox or Bloom Vocal Edit Lite for free with any purchase at Plugin Boutique.
I love Plugin Boutique’s monthly gifts, and I appreciate what they’ve done this November by changing the options weekly (unless I miss something I really want, which is ironically inevitable for me; then I’ll regret it. For now, I like it).
The most recent change sees Universal Audio’s Galaxy Tape Echo being replaced by IK Multimedia’s MixBox. I hope lots of you picked up Galaxy Tape Echo while it was available; it’s excellent.
That leaves us wth a choice between MixBox and Excite Audio’s Bloom Vocal Edit Lite. The offer ends on November 21, 2025.
I feel like we already know everything there is to know about Bloom Vocal Edit Lite because it’s been available as a free gift for a while already, but here’s a brief recap.
Bloom Vocal Edit Lite is a vocal-based instrument with a workflow similar to that of Output’s Arcade. The instrument allows you to trigger and modify vocal samples via an intuitive interface.
It all starts with keytriggers: white keys trigger samples, and black keys trigger modifiers like half-time, reverse, etc.
You also have four macro controls (Glue, Fuzz, Metalic, and Doubler), making it easy to create all sorts of transformations quickly. The immediacy with which you can put together glitchy, distorted vocal sequences is perhaps the most appealing quality (56 royalty-free vocal samples – 75 presets).
The downside is that there is no sample import function, which limits the plugin’s shelf life in some ways.
Bloom Vocal Edit Lite is available in AU, VST, VST3, AAX, and Standalone formats for macOS (10.15 or later) and Windows (7 or later).
IK Multimedia’s MixBox is the value-for-money option, if there is such a thing in a freebie, but it costs more at retail price and features over 70 mix processors and FX modules.

There is a caveat: IK Multimedia discontinued MixBox earlier this year, so there will be no future updates. But the developer has stated that they would address any future technical problems that arise.
So, in theory, if you choose MixBox, you’ll be fine using it in its current form without issue, and it’s rather good!
MixBox combines effects and processors from T-RackS, Amplitube, and SampleTank, placing them in a convenient 500-Series-like rack.
I know plenty of us were lucky enough to grab just about everything IK Multimedia ever made during the epic Group Buy promotion, but MixBox offers a different workflow.
We can choose any of the available 70+ modules to add to an eight-slot rack, creating custom FX/processor chains and channel strips.
I rate T-RackS pretty highly, and the flexibility of the MixBox workflow, and the ability to recall custom channel strips in the rack workspace for various scenarios is like the best of both worlds.
MixBox is available in AU, VST2, VST3, and AAX formats for macOS (10.13 or later) and Windows (7 or later).
As cool as Bloom Vocal Edit Lite is, the lack of a sample import feature leads me to pick MixBox this time around.
If you’re interested in Bloom Vocal Edit Lite but would also like a sample import feature, check out the full version. It’s currently available for £39 at Plugin Boutique (33% off – information correct as of November 18, 2025).
