DeepSoundLab has released LittleFuzzE, a fuzz pedal emulation plugin for macOS and Windows, available as a free download with optional paid upgrades.
LittleFuzzE is a modern take on a classic square fuzz pedal, designed for guitarists, synth players, and sound designers. It delivers a hardware-like response and tone with high modeling accuracy and controlled CPU usage.
You get a minimal control layout, as expected from a guitar pedal plugin. You can adjust the Input and Output gain, Sustain, Tone, Volume, and Oversampling.
All of this is included in the free version, with no noise bursts, time limits, or other annoying restrictions.
That said, LittleFuzzE has a unique pricing model that I think is quite fair. It kind of reminds me of what Tokyo Dawn Labs is doing with the GE editions of its plugins.
So, LittleFuzzE itself is fully functional and free. If you want to support the developer while slightly improving your workflow, you can purchase one of two alternative GUIs.
The Flat GUI and Skeuomorphic GUI versions are both paid upgrades ($20 regular / $16 intro price through October 1), offering cosmetic improvements, better oversampling options, and full compatibility with future updates.
The paid versions unlock DeepSoundLab’s Ultra OS mode (designed to reduce aliasing without altering the feel), real-time vs. render oversampling settings, a version selector for session recall, seamless GUI scaling, and a mono input toggle.
That said, all core functionality remains identical across versions. So, you can use the plugin for free and optionally upgrade to get a nicer-looking GUI and some additional features.
And honestly, I really like this approach. The free GUI is clean and fully usable. There’s no pressure to upgrade, but if you enjoy the plugin and want to support a small indie dev, you’ll get a nicer interface and a few workflow bonuses in return.
There’s also a membership option that gives access to all paid GUIs and future updates. Even if you cancel, you keep the last version you had. And also, DeepSoundLab offers a no-risk 7-day refund policy on GUI purchases.
LittleFuzzE is available in VST3 and AU plugin formats for macOS and Windows. You can download the free version or purchase a paid GUI directly from the DeepSoundLab website. There’s no download manager or copy protection.
