ReLayer is far more than your average delay plugin. It offers up to 32 delay taps, all of which are editable via a single-screen interface that keeps things faster than going through separate panels.
Each delay line can be adjusted for time, gain, pan, and two independent multi-effect slots, either manually or by drawing modulation patterns. That alone makes it a powerful tool for making all sorts of rhythmic delay patterns or time-based effects.
One of my favorite ReLayer features is the Dynamic Patch Visualizer, which gives you a real-time graphical view of your delay setup. It’s super convenient and makes it much easier to fine-tune complex delay configurations.
Speaking of which, you can get really creative with modulation, filtering, and feedback shaping, which makes ReLayer feel more like an FX playground than a standard delay.
The Diffusion mode lets you blur delays into a lush reverb-like texture, which is great for ambient work. The Ducker module helps keep your mix clean by ducking delays underneath dry signals, which is essential when working with vocals or dense arrangements.
There’s also a Phasor effect, expanded Redux controls, and a huge collection of cool presets to explore.
Another feature I particularly appreciate is the Color section. It lets you process the delay through various IRs that simulate amps, radios, phones, and more. This turns ReLayer into a surprisingly versatile sound-shaping tool, whether you’re aiming for subtle warmth or extreme lo-fi textures.
You can use ReLayer in both live and studio environments thanks to its Input Gate, which makes on-the-fly dub effects a breeze. CPU usage is impressively low for something this deep, which is another plus.
ReLayer is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for macOS 10.14+ and Windows 10/11. An iLok account is required, but a hardware dongle isn’t.
