Tina Knowles says Beyoncé keeps her in check for oversharing online.
During a recent interview with the Sibling Revelry podcast with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, Knowles was asked if she had any proud mom moments.
“Do you ever have those moments where you’re like, ‘Look what I did, look at my gorgeous daughters and how powerful they are’?” Kate asked near the 49-minute mark of the episode linked here.
“I don’t think I think about it like that,” Knowles said. “I just think about how blessed we are to be passionate about something and for it to come to life like that. I mean, I don’t take it for granted, ever. … I’m still like, ‘I can’t believe this,’ you know? I still post. I’m the biggest cheerleader, I’m screaming louder than anybody when Blue and Rumi come out [to perform with Beyoncé].”
She described her excitement during the last show of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour in Las Vegas with Oprah and Gayle King in the audience.
“They were like, ‘I can’t believe you get this excited,’ because I get up to the front of the riser,” Knowles said. “I’m screaming the whole time, and I’m like, ‘I have no shame,’ you know? I post 25 videos, and then I get a call. Beyoncé will be like, ‘Mama, can you not post so much?’”
“I never wanna be jaded about it or take it for granted or feel like, you know, it’s still really exciting for me,” Knowles concluded.
That wasn’t the only time Ms. Tina has had to watch her social media usage.
In a May interview on the Outlaws with TS Madison podcast, Knowles explained why she feels compelled to defend her famous daughter from constant criticism.
“I have to ‘cause it just gets to be too much,” Tina said of Beyoncé, who doesn’t tweet, comment, and seldom offers public comments. “I deal with a lot in the day and I hear such craziness every day, and it’s so hard not to put my fingers on there and do that ‘cause I get in trouble all the time.”
She described once hearing on Fox News that “Beyoncé’s tickets aren’t selling, the tour is a flop.”
“The tour is like 95% sold out everywhere, and they’re adding shows every day, and so I was like, ‘You know what?’ But then I said ‘Tina, you’re going to get in so much trouble,'” Knowles recalled. “So I was able to not have my fingers do the walking, but it’s so tempting because how does somebody just get to lie and try to slander your name like that? It’s so disgusting.”
