Nembrini Audio has introduced a new amplifier effect plugin that aims to bring a vintage British amp character with modern routing, cabinet flexibility, and studio-grade effects.
Modeled after the iconic Orange OR120 amplifier from the early ’70s, Range 120 captures its raw power, bold clean tones, and thick, saturated overdrive that shaped the sound of classic and hard rock.
Range 120 features
- F.A.C. (Frequency Attenuator Control): Six-position rotary switch for tone sculpting and midrange voicing.
- Bass (Hz) and Treble (kHz): Interactive Baxandall tone stack for deep, rich lows and clear, vibrant highs.
- HF Drive: Adds sparkle and bite to the tone.
- Gain: Shape preamp distortion and control overall output level.
- Dual Inputs (High/Low): Offers clean headroom or enhanced saturation depending on selected input.
- Cabinets & Impulse Loader: Includes 6 carefully selected cabinet emulations and an impulse response (IR) loader to load and blend your favorite third-party IRs. Mic selection, positioning, and mixing options provide studio-level control.
- Pre-Amplifier Stomp Effects: Noise Gate, Compressor, Doubler, and 808 Octane overdrive. All effects are draggable and re-orderable for full signal chain customization.
- Post-Amplifier Effects: Studio-grade Equalizer, Delay–Reverb, and Studio Compressor. Each effect is draggable for flexible routing and detailed tone sculpting.
- Standalone Version: Includes a standalone version of the plugin, allowing you to play and tweak tones without a DAW.
Available for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX), the Range 120 guitar amplifier plugin is on sale for the intro price of $29.99 USD until August 31st, 2025 (regular $137 USD).
