Azealia Banks says she’s “honestly not surprised or mad at” current POTUS Donald Trump amid ongoing questions about his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
In a since-removed and widely criticized X update, Banks, who has spoken out in support of Trump in the past, argued that “fucking 14-year-old girls was really only made a social taboo in the 1990s.” She also referenced teen pregnancy and “the rise of Jerry Springer” in her remarks, which she characterized as being shared “in Donald Trump’s defense.”
While the original X update no longer appears on Banks’ profile, several of her responses to criticism of the post remained live.

“You’re trying to make me responsible for what everyone was doing in the 1970s and I never once said I condoned it,” Banks said in one example, seen below. “I said – I accept that those things were very recently still normal despite age of consent legislations. You guys are boring.”
The deleted X update did not include a direct mention of Epstein, who was determined to have died by suicide while behind bars in 2019. However, Banks’ remarks come amid renewed attention on the investigation into the late child sex offender, which has long been the subject of conspiracy theories and legitimate inquiries alike.
Ghislaine Maxwell, a former girlfriend of Epstein’s currently serving a 20-year sentence, was recently reported to have wrapped interviews with the Justice Department after being subpoenaed for a deposition. According to a lawyer representing Maxwell, she answered questions about roughly “100 different people.”
