Currensy has responded to Freddie Gibbs’ diss on Alfredo 2.
Cash Fargo, a producer who’s worked with Currensy frequently over the years, posted a threatening message to Gibbs for dissing Currensy on the song “Gas Station Sushi” from his new joint album with The Alchemist, Alfredo 2.
The lengthy message tells Gibbs to “Stop fuckin playing lil dude” along with some other major threats, including that he’ll “jump out there and do sum to you behind you not watching yo mouth.”
Instead of replying directly to Gibbs, Currensy hopped in the comments to laugh off the rapper’s choice words to him.
“We ain’t trippin hahah send me some beats tho,” wrote Currensy.
On “Gas Station Sushi,” Gibbs came at Currensy’s neck for not properly promoting their 2018 joint LP Fetti that dropped in 2018.
“Could’ve ran that ‘Fetti’ by myself, bitch, I’m the best with AI, yeah/Bitch, keep it G, we like on part three, n***a, uh/Go start a Chevy up, don’t start me, n***a,” rapped Gibbs.
Freddie first revealed that he was upset about Currensy’s handling of their joint project back in 2023 when, while responding to fans on X, he told them that there wouldn’t be a sequel to their critically acclaimed LP.
Taking it a step further, Gibbs went on to address the situation further on an Instagram burner page where he laid out the full details of what happened.
“N***a shitted on our first project,” he wrote. “Didn’t shoot one video or do one show. I ain’t get mad, I just subtracted him from the equation and me and Al made another classic [and] went to the Grammys. End of story.”
Gibbs and The Alchemist’s Alfredo 2 was released on July 25. In an interview with Apple Music to promote the LP ahead of its release, Gibbs revealed that he’s planning on releasing an album with Kaytranada sometime in the near future.
