Mariah Carey claims that Rihanna was supposed to get her signature tattooed on her chest.
Carey opened up about her interaction with Rihanna on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! That aired on July 24. Speaking to guest host Fortune Feimster (around the 3:20 mark in the video), the singer reflected on autographing Rihanna’s chest at a Christmas Time tour show in Brooklyn — a moment that went viral after it happened in December.
When asked if she usually signs fans’ body parts, Carey responded casually with, “Not really.”
“Sometimes on someone’s arm or something,” she continued. “That was a unique moment. We love Rihanna.”
Rihanna promised that she’d get the autograph tattooed on her, but Carey revealed that she’s skeptical about whether that happened or not. “She said she was going to, but somehow, I don’t think that happened,” she said.

Elsewhere in the interview, Carey spoke about her upcoming album, Here for It All, which’ll be her first new LP in seven years. “I was just getting it together,” she explained for the reason that it took so long to come out. “I would make, like, four songs, and then I’d be like, ‘We can start making an album now,’ and then I’d never do it. Then I got up to 10 songs and we were basically ready for an album.”
Earlier this month, Carey released the Type Dangerous remix EP that featured appearances from Big Sean, Method Man, DJ Snake, and Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza. The project consists of all remixes to “Type Dangerous,” the first single for Here for It All.
The 11-track project will also have the song “Sugar Sweet” that features Shenseea and Kehlani. In a sit down interview with Apple Music, she referred to the song as a “summery single.”
Carey’s last album, Caution came out in 2018. The 10-track LP featured collaobrations with Gunna, Slick Rick, Blood Orange, and Ty Dolla Sign.
