Rihanna returned to Barbados this week to attend the funeral of her father, Ronald Fenty.
As reported by TMZ, the singer-songwriter and fashion designer was joined by her partner, ASAP Rocky, and their two kids, RZA and Riot. In photos from the funeral, Rihanna was carrying Riot, while Rocky followed behind holding RZA. Also in attendance at the funeral was Ronald’s fiancée, Rosemary.
Per TMZ, Ronald Fenty died at age 71 in Los Angeles at the end of May following a battle with an illness. Before the news of her father’s death broke, Rihanna’s brother, Rajad Fenty, was seen arriving at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He reportedly died from a combination of cancer, pneumonia, and respiratory failure.
Throughout her career, Rihanna had a tumultuous relationship with her father during his struggle with addiction. Despite their issues, he said she sent him a ventilator in Barbados while he was battling a COVID-19 infection. “My daughter Robyn was checking in on me every day,” he told British tabloid The Sun. “She did so much for me. I appreciate everything she has done.”
Earlier this year, Rihanna announced that she’s expecting her third child with ASAP Rocky. When he appeared at the Met Gala, he corroborated the news, and ever since, she’s been showing off her baby bump.
