In June, Selena Gomez and Karol G appeared together on Complex’s GOAT Talk, resulting in an Ice Cube mention during a larger discussion about the all-time greats of rap.
“I had the biggest crush on [Ice Cube],” Gomez said. “I was, like, five. It’s so weird but I just thought he would protect me … I’m only saying it simply based on my childhood.”
How did Ice Cube respond to Selena Gomez on GOAT Talk?
According to Cube, he first “heard this years ago,” though he didn’t elaborate on that point.

“A lot of ‘em like me, homie,” Cube said, as seen in the video below. “What? Wassup? I heard this years ago. Look, I had my crushes too growing up.”
Asked to name one, Cube mentioned Vanity, the lead singer behind the Prince-produced (and Prince-penned) 1982 hit “Nasty Girl,” off the Vanity 6 group’s lone album.
“I had about four,” Cube added as the crushes conversation continued.
