Diddy’s sex trafficking trial took a turn as text messages showed Cassie expressing a desire for “freak-offs” and even wishing for a baby.
Diddy dominated the courtroom spotlight on Tuesday (June 17) as his legal team introduced a string of explicit text messages that appeared to show Cassie Ventura enthusiastically engaging in the same “freak-off” sessions she later described as abusive in her civil lawsuit.
Day 25 of the federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial against the Hip-Hop mogul saw defense attorney Teny Geragos call attention to messages that painted a different picture of the couple’s dynamic.
In one exchange from August 2009, Ventura responded to Diddy’s question about when she wanted to “freak off” with, “I’m always ready to freak off.”
The defense also highlighted a message where Ventura wrote, “I’m so horny I can’t concentrate,” followed by instructions for Diddy to pack a bag as she headed to Duane Reade.
That message, notably, was not included in the government’s chart of evidence, according to U.S. Attorney’s Office special agent DeLeassa Penland, who returned to the stand Monday.
Geragos continued to chip away at the prosecution’s narrative by referencing a message from male escort Jules Theodore, who told Diddy, “I need rest, you guys are rabbits LOL,” suggesting the couple’s sexual appetite was relentless.
The term “rabbits” was used to describe how frequently they engaged in sex, often for hours or even days at a time.
In another message, Ventura told Diddy, “I’m horny and bored,” and in a separate exchange, she said she was having “sexy flashbacks of yesterday.”
At one point, she promised to be “the nastier freak b#### to make up for it,” referring to a future encounter. The defense also introduced a conversation where Ventura expressed a desire to have a child with Diddy.
“I can’t wait until we have a baby, happy Father’s Day,” she wrote. In response to Diddy asking what she wanted to do, she replied, “I wish we could have freaked-off before you left.”
Geragos emphasized Ventura’s apparent willingness in these messages to counter the prosecution’s portrayal of Diddy as a coercive and abusive partner.
The trial continues Wednesday (June 18) in federal court.
