The jury in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking and racketeering trial watched watched videos of the mogul’s “freak-offs” in court on Tuesday (June 17).
Complex’s Shawn Setaro reported that Diddy’s defense showed multiple and lengthier clips to the jury. One lasted for almost five minutes, while another was just shy of four minutes long.
Only jurors and the prosecutor were permitted to watch the videos. Diddy reportedly saw some of the clips privately before testimony started, but not in the courtroom. He listened to the clips with headphones as the jury and prosecutor watched.
On Monday, TMZ reported that the prosecution showed jurors 30-second clips of the footage, and no one from the gallery nor attorneys watched.
The prosecutor played the videos while asking a Department of Justice special agent to confirm a list of hotels where Diddy purportedly held his “freak-offs” with Cassie Ventura and male escorts.
The prosecutor then displayed the videos, each of which was 11 or 12 minutes long, to the jurors. The jury wore headphones to listen to the audio, and they were all reportedly extremely quiet, though one young juror is said to have initially giggled while watching.
This week, news surfaced that a Black male juror was dismissed from Diddy’s sex trafficking and racketeering case due to discrepancies about his living situation. During the jury selection process, the man said he lives in the Bronx with his family; however, he later said during an offhand conversation that he had recently moved to New Jersey.
When U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian heard about the remarks, he questioned the juror, who at first said he lives in New Jersey. Then, the man shared that he stays in a New York-area apartment a few nights a week. The judge decided the inconsistencies were enough cause to the man from the proceedings. Diddy’s legal team later pushed back against the striking of the juror.
