Plughugger has introduced a new collection of deep and hypnotic techno sounds for the Pigments software synthesizer from Arturia. Abstract Techno is inspired by modern minimal genres, cinematic techno and 90s rave culture.
To create this sound library, Plughugger combined analog tones from classic synths with rave stabs, detuned pads, and experimental textures recorded from obscure FM synthesizers and boutique digital gear, as well as the Modal Engine (new in Pigments 6) to add movement, tension, and space.
The soundset is aimed at producers of deep techno, cinematic techno, minimal, and experimental club music, but it also finds a home in ambient techno, leftfield, and modular-style productions. As a bonus, Plughugger added a handful of 909 drum sounds (recorded from a real TR909) sampled through an Emu EMAX hardware sampler for that 90s crunchy feel.
Abstract Techno contains 195 sounds in the following categories:
- 56 Bass sounds.
- 29 Arpeggios & Sequences.
- 22 Drum & Percussion.
- 17 Effects.
- 14 Pads & Strings.
- 41 Synth & Leads.
- 14 Textures & Soundscapes.
- 2 Vocals.
The soundset is on sale for the intro price of 9.90 EUR until June 15th, 2025 (regular 29.90 EUR). Use coupon code ABSTRACT at the checkout to get the discount.
