Tony Buzbee confirmed he will not represent Moriah Mills in her planned lawsuit against Zion Williamson, citing that her case didn’t match his firm’s priorities.
Tony Buzbee declined to represent Moriah Mills in a potential civil suit against Zion Williamson after reviewing her claims involving their past relationship, the high-profile attorney confirmed Tuesday (June 3).
Mills, an adult film actress, had contacted Buzbee’s office seeking legal representation in a case she hoped to bring against the New Orleans Pelicans star.
After an initial review, Buzbee’s team passed on the case.
“We can’t comment about the details or merits of her claims,” Buzbee told TMZ. “As you know, we are contacted by numerous people across the United States daily with grievances. We can’t help them all. Some of those we do take are resolved quietly. A number are filed and litigated, like the $640 million jury verdict we achieved a few weeks back. Only a small few become public.”
Moriah Mills made headlines two years ago after publicly accusing Zion Williamson of being romantically involved with her shortly before announcing he was expecting a child with another woman.
She later claimed she was subjected to years of harassment and humiliation.
She recently released a tearful statement on her social media account, saying: “Everybody deserves a chance to be heard, and I hope me and any of the other victims… I just hope we all get justice.”
Her social media posts at the time drew wide attention but did not result in any legal action.
Buzbee’s decision not to take on the lawsuit is surprising, given that he has filed over 50 lawsuits against Diddy and is currently involved in court proceedings with JAY-Z.
Buzbee did not elaborate on whether the decision was based on legal merit or strategic preference.
Meanwhile, Zion Williamson is currently dealing with a separate and more serious legal matter.
A woman identified as Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit accusing the NBA player of years of sexual abuse, allegations he has denied.
