50 Cent may originate from New York, but that’s not stopping him from throwing his support behind the Indiana Pacers as the 2025 NBA Finals get underway.
On Sunday (June 1), the Get Rich or Die Tryin’ rapper shared an Instagram post featuring a video of New York Knicks fans wreaking havoc and shoving a Pacers fan outside of Madison Square Garden. It also included footage of the Pacers dominating the Knicks, with a focus on point guard/shooting guard Tyrese Haliburton.
“@tyresehaliburton told me to tell all New Yorkers they are welcome to become his fans and continue to watch the finals,” he wrote in the caption. “I’m just relay a message.”
The comment section lit up with people disgusted by 50 Cent’s disloyalty to New York City. Comments ranged from “50 gotta be the most unloyal person ever” and “You and your new BFF WHITEBONE, we good. Damn FIF after all the NY love, you playing with our love for you” to “I don’t like how you switching sides my boy” and “Smh! You’re kicking NY after the loss? Damn Sellout!”
Someone also hit way below the belt with “I see why 50 got shot 9 times,” a reference to the infamous 2000 incident in which 50 Cent was shot nine times.
The Queens native has been posting about Haliburton and the Pacers frequently. Last week, he shared a photo and video of Haliburton wearing a 50 Cent t-shirt. He wrote in the caption, “My man said he mean business, everybody better be on 10 it’s lit.”
50 Cent attended Game 4 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals between the Knicks and Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on May 27. He was spotted courtside wearing a “Free Diddy” shirt, most likely in an effort to troll the Bad Boy Records mogul amid his ongoing trial.
Over the weekend, 50 Cent vowed to meet with Donald Trump—who’s reportedly considering granting a full pardon for Diddy—to warn him. He wrote in another Instagram post, “He said some really bad things about Trump, it’s not ok. Im gonna reach out so he knows how I feel about this guy.”
He later added, “Donald doesn’t take well to disrespect, and doesn’t forget who chooses to go against him. while working tirelessly to make America great again there is no room for distraction. He would consider pardoning anyone who was being mistreated not Puffy Daddy.”
Diddy and 50 Cent’s beef dates back to 2006, when 50 Cent released the diss track “The Bomb,” in which he suggested that Diddy had knowledge about the 1997 murder of The Notorious B.I.G. (“Man, Puffy know who hit that n####.”). It’s only intensified over the years and 50 hasn’t let his foot off Diddy’s neck since his September 2024 arrest.
