Cassie‘s mother, Regina Ventura, has testified that Diddy forced her to pay him $20,000 in exchange for her daughter’s sextape.
On Tuesday (May 20), Ventura took the stand in Diddy’s federal racketeering and sex trafficking trial to testify against the Bad Boy Records founder, and she revealed some shocking information regarding Cassie’s relationship with him.
Ventura claimed that Cassie told her Diddy grew enraged by her relationship with Kid Cudi and threatened to release a sex tape featuring the “Me & U” singer. She then said Diddy demanded $20,000 from her and her husband to recoup the money he invested in their daughter.
“It was understood that he was going to need $20,000 to recoup money he had spent on her because he had been angry that she had a relationship with Scott Mescudi,” said Ventura. “He was angry that he had spent money on her and she had been with another person.”
Ventura added that she took out a home equity loan with her husband to cover the price and sent it to Diddy through a wire transfer. However, Ventura claimed the money was returned to her account about five days later with no explanation or further instructions. When asked why she took out the loan, Ventura replied, “For the safety of my daughter.”
Ventura also confirmed taking pictures of the bruises on Cassie’s body, which she believed came from Diddy’s alleged abuse. According to Ventura, she wanted “to make sure we memorialized it.” Cassie’s mother also testified to witnessing an argument between her daughter and Diddy in Los Angeles that ended in Diddy taking Cassie’s Jaguar.
During her testimony last week, Cassie claimed she struggled with telling her mother the truth about the nature of her relationship with Diddy. Cassie said she didn’t tell her mother because she felt “ashamed” and didn’t want to put her in any “danger.”
