Have you ever been listening to a song and thought you heard a familiar voice, one that isn’t listed in the credits? It happens more often than you think. From rock legends like John Lennon to pop icons such as Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake, some of the biggest names in music have secretly lent their voices to hit songs without official credits. Discover 5 hit songs that secretly feature popular vocals.

Fame – David Bowie (featuring John Lennon)

David Bowie’s 1975 hit ‘Fame’ is a sharp, funky critique of celebrity culture. What makes it even more fascinating is the unexpected presence of a Beatle. John Lennon co-wrote the track and added his voice to the mix, most memorably with that high-pitched echo of “Fame!” that loops through the song. While Lennon’s lyrical contributions were brief, his presence was catalytic. He brought a raw, chaotic energy that helped transform the song from a straightforward funk groove into a jagged, avant-garde takedown of stardom.

Hymn For The Weekend – Coldplay (featuring Beyoncé)

Coldplay’s vibrant 2016 anthem ‘Hymn for the Weekend’ is best known for its euphoric energy, but listen closely, and you’ll hear a familiar, powerful voice soaring through the chorus: Beyoncé. Originally written by Chris Martin as a straightforward party track, the song took on a more spiritual and uplifting tone with her involvement. Though she isn’t officially credited as a featured artist in the title, Beyoncé’s unmistakable vocals are woven throughout the chorus and background harmonies.

Reach For The Stars – will.i.am (featuring Lil Jon)

In a truly unprecedented moment in music history, will.i.am’s 2012 track ‘Reach for the Stars’ didn’t debut on Earth; it premiered from 150 million miles away, beaming down from the surface of Mars. The song itself is an orchestral, inspirational piece featuring a 40-piece orchestra and youth choirs, designed to match its lofty mission. But buried within the mix is perhaps the most unexpected and least obvious feature on this list: a subtle vocal contribution from producer and rapper Lil Jon. Unlike his usual high-energy style, Lil Jon’s presence here is understated, likely limited to faint ad-libs like the repeated “Heat, heat, heat” tucked deep into the mix. He wasn’t meant to be a headline feature or a recognizable hook; instead, his input acts more like a producer’s signature.

Where Is The Love – Black Eyed Peas (featuring Justin Timberlake)

The 2003 smash hit ‘Where Is The Love?’ became an anthem for global unity and social awareness, and while it’s clearly a Black Eyed Peas track, it also prominently features the smooth vocals of Justin Timberlake. Though he wasn’t officially credited due to label complications, his presence is impossible to miss. Timberlake’s signature falsetto delivers the emotional line, “People killin’, people dyin’…” adding a layer of soul and sincerity that deepens the song’s impact. His uncredited contribution played a key role in shaping the track’s emotional core and helped propel it into pop culture history.

Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell (featuring Michael Jackson)

The ultimate ‘80s paranoia anthem, ‘Somebody’s Watching Me’, owes its unforgettable chorus to none other than the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Although he wasn’t officially credited, likely due to label conflicts, since he was signed to Epic Records while the song was released through Motown, his voice is instantly recognizable. That iconic line, “I always feel like somebody’s watching me,” isn’t just a catchy hook; it’s the heart of the entire song. Jackson’s contribution was so memorable that many people still mistake the track for one of his own.
