Project Pat has been mourning the loss of his son since being shot and killed back in January, and police have now charged someone in connection to the murder.
Patrick Houston Jr. was shot to death near the intersection of Ketchum Road and Long Street in Memphis on January 10, 2025. The 21-year-old’s body was discovered by police around 1 p.m. local time.
Now, according to a statement released by the U.S. Marshals Service, 19-year-old Talia Jones was arrested on Tuesday (July 15) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for Facilitation of First-Degree Murder.
A warrant for Jones’ arrest was issued on June 27 after a Memphis Police Department investigation linked her to the killing of Pat’s son. According to police, Jones “did not go into custody quietly,” fighting Task Force members while actively resisting arrest.
Police noted that Jones was “subdued without injury to anyone involved” and was in custody awaiting extradition to Tennessee.

While no other information was provided, this isn’t Jones’ first run-in with the law, having previously been arrested for allegedly shoplifting, as well as being charged with aggravated assault during a domestic disturbance, per WREG Memphis.
According to authorities, the aggravated assault charge stemmed from a fight between Jones and her girlfriend. Jones claimed that during the physical altercation, her girlfriend grabbed a hammer, and so she grabbed a knife to defend herself. Both parties were taken into custody but the charge against Jones was dismissed due to lack of prosecution.
As far as the shoplifting case, a bench warrant was issued for Jones on June 2 after she failed to appear in court.
