If you’ve been looking for a new delay plugin, there’s been no shortage of options over the past week or so as Witch Pig releases Starscraper, a free pitch-shifting reverse delay plugin for macOS and Windows.
We’ve had Harrison 3D Delay (free from Harrison Audio), a BPB exclusive offering 35% off Raccoon Audio’s EchoSnack Delay, and now we have Starscraper by Witch Pig.
There are a couple of things that we’ve come to expect from Witch Pig; the first is a slight deviation from the typical approach to any effect, and the second is an interface with some sort of motion graphics.
While a visually striking interface is never a priority, I think the developer’s creative approach leads to some distinctly interesting plugins.
Starscraper is a micro-pitch-shifting reverse delay plugin, available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS and Windows.
To download the plugin for free, you’ll have to subscribe to the developer’s growing YouTube channel. I know the YouTube subscription has been a point of contention for some in the past, but it’s just a little support for a growing channel in exchange for a new plugin.
If it’s not for you, you’re free to unsubscribe at any time.
Starscraper allows you to adjust pitch on the left and right sides independently, which you can use to create depth or add some shimmer to lead sounds. Although I think the reverse delay works best when using subtle settings on lead guitars or synths, it’s also a great way to make cinematic pedal notes more interesting.
Additionally, you can run wild with the pitch and delay settings for a sound that builds into absolute chaos.

The plugin features controls for Pitch (left and right), Mix, Reverse Delay (1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc.), and Feedback.
Clicking along the bottom row of the GUI will bring the controls into sight.
Reverse delay and reverse reverb effects are always interesting and more versatile than they might sound. Another nice way to use Starscraper is with some very slight detuning and low to moderate feedback on a piano; it works for melodic and harmonic playing.
You can check out Starscraper and more from this developer (like Black Mirror Reverb) on the Witch Pig website.
At the time of writing, there are still a couple of days left to grab Gorilla Drive by Safari Pedals for free (usually $49). Gorilla Drive is an analog-style saturation effect for macOS and Windows. The offer ends at 23:59 on Sunday, August 24th, 2025.
