pointblank Live Gig
December 1| 19:30 GMT
pointblank Live is back. Our Live Sound Engineering students will run the full technical production of a real gig: from setup and soundcheck to live mixing. Expect the buzz of a proper show, meet up-and-coming bands and performers, and link up with fellow students and industry peers. Whether you’re into live sound, performing, or just want to hang out and enjoy a beer, this is the place to be. It’s free and open to everyone, students and non-students alike. Book your place here.
Open Mic Night with Grammy Award-Winner Phil Ramocon
If you’re more about performing, come out to our Open Mic Night with Grammy Award winner Phil Ramocon. It runs on alternate Wednesdays at The Stag’s Head, it’s free entry, and it’s open to singers, songwriters and live acts. You just turn up and sign up between 6 and 7 PM, then the show starts at 7:30 PM. Phil is a Grammy-winning pianist, performer and pointblank lecturer with 25+ years in the industry, known for co-writing Neneh Cherry’s “Buffalo Stance,” and for working with Gregory Isaacs, Neneh Cherry, Jimmy Cliff, Marianne Faithfull and even touring with Bob Marley. This is very much “get on the mic and be heard,” not “wait six months for a showcase.” Check out the next Open Mic here.

After the success of our initial Reggae Roast Workshop, Reggae Roast Soundsystem returns for four hours of pure vibes. Expect the full spectrum of Reggae, Dancehall, and Jungle, a live dub performance from Matt Interrupt, two MCs bringing authentic Soundsystem energy, and a dual Soundsystem setup with one system on each side of the stage for maximum impact. December 11| 19:00 GMT
Singers and songwriters from across pointblank round off the term with a free showcase at the HUB (Penn Street), bringing new tracks and standout performances to the stage. Expect talent from the pointblank Vocal Group, students from Music Production & Vocal Performance and Music Production & Songwriting. The bar’s open and the vibe is celebratory. Book your place here.

A&R Feedback Session with Stavros

Take your music from the practice room to the stage with live promoter Colin Doran. Learn how to land your first shows, approach venues professionally, and build relationships.
