UJAM has made Finisher RETRO, its vintage-themed multi-effect plugin, available for free—but only for a limited time.
While Finisher RETRO isn’t a new release, this is a rare chance to grab it for free, directly from the UJAM website or Plugin Boutique. Just add it to your cart and complete the free checkout to claim your copy.
We first reviewed Finisher RETRO back in 2021 and gave it a solid 8.7/10. It’s a plugin I still reach for when a sound needs a note of instability, grit, and a lo-fi character.
UJAM describes Finisher RETRO as a “time machine,” and honestly, that’s not far off. And like everything else in the Finisher series, it’s not just one effect.
Instead, it’s a network of up to 20 sound modules working together in each mode. However, the twist is that all the complex functionality happens under the hood, and we can control it with a few knobs.
Every entry in the Finisher series follows a different theme, and you basically get a bunch of FX setups for a particular type of sound.
With this one, the concept is simple: 50 modes inspired by four decades (60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s) delivering a palette of vintage textures. Each mode is paired with 100 presets, and the signature Finisher knob lets you explore the full spectrum of each effect with a single twist.
And it really isn’t a one-trick pony.
UJAM incorporated all sorts of lo-fi goodness, including tape hiss, vinyl crackle, tube saturation, dusty spring reverbs, chorus-drenched guitars, gritty modulation, early digital delay artifacts, and more.

I particularly love how hands-on it is. There’s no menu diving or overwhelming tweakability; the plugin is about the vibe and instant results.
If you’ve been following BPB for a while, you probably know I’m a sucker for plugins like this one. I like lo-fi stuff, and I love one-knob interfaces.
And with all of that in mind, I think Finisher RETRO is great for injecting life into clean digital recordings, whether you’re working on drums, synths, guitar, or even a full mix.
Some of my favorite modes include “Too Old Tube” (perfect for synths), “Vinyl History,” and “Subharmonics” for drum breaks. You can even use it to add color to various elements of your mix or as a sound design tool for creating retro sounds.
And while I think it’s worth the original asking price, it’s an absolute no-brainer for free. So don’t miss this one.
Finisher RETRO is compatible with Windows 10 and higher, and macOS Mojave through Sonoma, running natively on Intel and Apple Silicon. Supported plugin formats include VST2, VST3, AU2, and AAX.
To get your free copy, head to UJAM’s website while the offer lasts. And as a bonus, you’ll receive another surprise plugin just for signing up.
