Coachella 2025 gave us so much more than just a killer lineup.
Beyond the music lineup, which featured sets from Lady Gaga, Missy Elliott, Travis Scott, GloRilla, Jennie, and Post Malone to name a few, the iconic festival became a lowkey fever dream thanks to some pretty surreal moments happening on the ground this past weekend.
Here’s a rundown of some of the most off the rails moments from Coachella 2025’s first weekend below.
A Marge Simpson Xenomorph hit the desert.
A towering creature merging the beloved character from The Simpsons and the biomechanical body of a Xenomorph from the Alien movie series made its way through the polo fields. The ‘Xenomarge’ was designed and worn by artist Brett Gross. It’s not clear what responses it got on-site, but hopefully someone yelled “Mother!”
A couple held their gender reveal at the festival.
It’s no surprise when certain festivalgoers try to make the most of their experience, such as the couple who decided the most appropriate place for their balloon-pop gender reveal was in the middle of Coachella. It almost makes you wonder if the baby shower will be at this year’s Stagecoach.
Harrylovespandas sang for Shaboozey.
The viral singing influencer got an opportunity to sing a brief, but heartfelt rendition of “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” for Shaboozey himself on the grounds. The moment ended with a hug and the singer exclaiming, “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life.”
M.I.A.’s son has a new auntie.
One woman’s TikTok storytime about her “chaotic” Coachella experience went viral when she explained how running late led her to hop into an unofficial shuttle to the fest. She wound up sharing the ride with M.I.A.’s actual son, who now calls her “auntie.” Coachella bonds are truly built different.
The Duolingo bird stole the show.
You already know Duo Keyshauna Renee Lingo had to pop out to Coachella over the weekend. The iconic owl mascot from the popular language learning app made a surprise appearance during Yo Gabba Gabba’s set and then was escorted to exclusive Coachella after party like the A-list celeb she is.
Conechella joins the lineup.
A group of friends dressed in full orange traffic cone outfits were spotted blending in perfectly with the actual cones on the field. Whether its performance art, or some sort of statement, the vibes were immaculate even if they were a little confusing.
