I’m a self-confessed hoarder of cinematic sounds, some of which have never seen the light of day. But I know I’ll need every single one of them one day, and it would be foolish to get rid of anything that I’ll need later.
I know it’s true because everyone at my cinematic sound addiction support group agrees.

It’s not a collection of synthesized metallic sounds; it’s the very eerie sound of heavy metal objects and the extremely creative mind of Slava Pogorelsky.
If you check out the testimonials on A Sound Effect, you’ll find AAA sound designers championing Slava’s work, including Bjørn Jacobsen (CyberPunk 2077, Hitman).
The collection features rattling metal fences, squeaking metal doors, and the sound of huge chains being dragged and dropped.
There are very few sounds in cinema as chilling and grating as metal scratches, and there’s plenty of those in this pack.
Which leads perfectly into the first, and maybe the main, use case: horror SFX.
In any survival/escape scene, metal noises suggesting movement that isn’t visible yet are terrifying, and always a safe bet when scoring.
Another good option is to use these sounds to artificially enhance the impact of on-screen collisions (such as car crashes or objects falling).
The obvious candidates for a sample pack like this one are film and game composers, but there’s always space for horror SFX in music production, especially in certain variants of metal music.
Alternatively, it’s highly effective in cocktail jazz if you want to catch people off guard.
