sonicLAB has announced a free update for the Oceanic app, the WaveBot and WaveCC plugins, alongside the release of a new Oceanic app for iPad.
First introduced in 2023, Oceanic is a groundbreaking audio software bundle that captures the natural essence of ocean waves and transforms them into dynamic soundscapes.
With the latest update, users can now control the Oceanic bundle plugins WaveBot, WaveCC and FlangerBot from a remote computer or on the iPad in their local area network.
The Oceanic app now works on the iPAD and is a free download on the AppStore. Users can specify the IP address of the target computer running the Oceanic bundle plugins and send the generated Oceanic wave parameters to these plugins from the iPAD app.
The WaveBot wavetable synthesizer that generates sounds directly from evolving wave data has been updated:
- As the WaveBot can send its wave parameters to the Oceanic app, users can now set the IP address of the device running the Oceanic app (desktop/iPad).
- Occasionally, when launching the WaveBot app, an audio buffer size change was needed on the DAW. This issue has been fixed.
The Wave CC MIDI CC generation tool that converts wave motion into MIDI controller messages has been updated as well:
- WaveCC can now also generate 14bit MIDI Pitch Bend messages to deliver the modulation signal generated by each oceanic wave probe.
- The user can switch to the Pbend mode from MIDI CC for each wave probe.
The update is free for existing users. New customers can purchase the Oceanic Bundle for Windows and Mac for 109 EUR.Euros including the Oceanic app, WaveBot, WaveCC and FlangerBot. The Oceanic app for iPad is available to download for free on the App Store.
