Skepta doesn’t think Eminem is as invincible as people think when it comes to rap beef, and has argued that Machine Gun Kelly is proof of that.

The UK MC, who is no stranger to beefing with other artists, shared a tweet on Thursday (July 3), suggesting that he was looking to “clash” with an American rapper to spark a debate about MCs from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.

He started a discussion about artist clashes, inspired by dancehall culture, and said that his focus was on American rappers rather than local ones.

“I wanna clash an American rapper anyway, finally get this UK/US rap debate sorted,” he wrote.

One fan shared their appreciation for Skepta, but suggested he shouldn’t “go near” either Kendrick Lamar or Eminem, to which he responded: “MGK left Eminem a chink in his armour, why you talking like Slim Shady is untouchable.”

Eminem and MGK’s beef started back in 2012 after the latter shared a tweet calling Em’s then 16-year-old daughter, Hailie Mathers, “hot as fuck.” He later apologized for the comment, but dissed the Detroit rapper in 2018 after claiming he was banned from going on the Eminem-owned SiriusXM radio station, Shade 45. After a series of diss tracks, including “Rap Devil,” Eminem responded with “Killshot” which arguably put the beef to bed.

After starting a conversation about clashing with American rappers, Skepta later responded to a fan who highlighted “Praise the Lord (Da Shine),” a collaboration he did with A$AP Rocky in 2018. “I think me vs Rocky would be a [two fire emojis] clash,” he replied. “No violence, just bars, punchlines and counteractions.”

He also clarified that he’s not seeking to start a beef, but friendly sportsmanship between artists. “You don’t need beef to have a clash,” wrote one fan. “It’s sport.” Skepta reposted the comment and added: “What I should have said earlier. This is the tweet, Good night.”
