Quietformat has announced the release of a new virtual instrument designed to support creative flow without unnecessary complexity.
Capturing the warmth and character of classic analog synthesizers in a digital format, Meltone is a modern analog-style synth focused on fast, musical, and expressive sound-making.
It features two independent oscillators, each offering sine, triangle, saw, square, and noise waveforms, allowing flexible sound blending. With 3 envelopes and 3 LFOs (including a filter LFO and pitch LFO, pitch Mod Wheel), MELTONE enables rich and organic sound design. A stereo mode and dedicated detune and chorus buttons provide depth and texture control.
The highlight is a five-step unstable pitch modulator that lets you shape subtle or aggressive pitch movements with expressive flexibility.
Meltone also includes Gilla Arp, a built-in arpeggiator which reacts to your chords with controlled unpredictability and generates evolving, texture-rich layers.
Available for Windows and Mac (VST3/AU), Meltone is on sale for the intro price of $59.50 USD until July 23rd, 2025 (regular $119 USD). A separate plugin version of Gilla Arp is available for $24.50 USD instead of $49 USD during the promotion.
Additionally, the Tiltone tone shaper effect plugin is available as a free download.
TILTONE is a minimal and intuitive tone control plugin that lets you tilt your sound darker or brighter with a single knob. Designed for subtle shaping or bold tonal shifts, it adds natural harmonic richness as you push it further, making it useful as a gentle saturator as well.
