NoiseWorks Audio is once again giving away TranSplit, its innovative transient and body balancing plugin, completely free for a limited time. The plugin normally costs €49, but you can grab it right now at no charge from the NoiseWorks website.
If you’ve missed it the first time around (it was briefly free back in June 2023), this is another chance to add what is, in my opinion, a very clever dynamics tool to your collection. I got it for free the last time it was offered and have used it quite a lot for tightening my cinematic SFX.
Unlike a compressor, TranSplit doesn’t squash peaks or alter the overall gain structure. Instead, it separates your audio into two elements — Punch (the transient) and Body (the sustain) — and lets you control the balance between them with a simple slider.
This makes it one of the most intuitive transient shapers around, and it’s ideal for quickly tightening up drums or adding weight to percussive sounds.
The interface is clean and minimal, with real-time visual feedback showing the transient and body components as you tweak. Alongside the main Punch/Body balance slider, you’ll find controls for Sensitivity, Length, and Trigger.
Sensitivity adjusts how finely the plugin detects transient details, Length sets the fade-out of detected hits, and Trigger lets you focus processing on specific frequency ranges, which is super convenient for taming bright cymbals or fattening a kick drum’s low end.
I like that TranSplit focuses on doing one thing exceptionally well. It’s not overloaded with features, and it doesn’t try to emulate analog gear. Instead, it’s very intuitive and basically just gives you clean, precise transient balance control.
You can even get creative by using it to isolate and process transients and body parts separately for parallel processing or sound design.
To claim your free copy, head to the product page, fill out the short form, and you’ll receive a coupon code via email. Ensure TranSplit is the only item in your cart before applying the code, as it won’t work otherwise.
TranSplit runs on macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon, macOS 12 or later) and Windows 10+ (64-bit) in VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats. It supports all major DAWs, including Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Cubase, FL Studio, Reaper, and Studio One.
