Lisa Brown, the sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson, spoke out in defense of Casandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura Fine on NewsNation show Banfield this week. Brown, whose sister was murdered in 1994, asked people following the trial not to judge the former Bad Boy Entertainment artist.
“Majority of the public are really enthralled with cases like this. So, my message to the people who are watching this: do not judge this girl,” Brown said about Ventura around the 1-minute mark of the video below.
“Do not judge this young lady,” she continued. “You have not walked in her shoes. I did not walk in Nicole’s shoes…be a little bit sensitive because you have never walked in somebody’s shoes until you actually have.”
Brown added that she wants Ventura’s family to “find some grounding” amid the trial, which could last for ten weeks. “Having to behave in a certain way, you’re under a microscope with the public, you’re under a microscope with the media,” she added.
Brown said that Ventura will be “judged no matter what.” “Their private lives are gone,” she also said of Ventura’s relatives.
Various people close to Ventura have given testimonies in the trial, like her former best friend, Kerry Morgan, who alleged that she witnessed Diddy beat Ventura on multiple occasions. Ventura’s mother, Regina Ventura, also accused Diddy of a $20,000 extortion over a sex tape.
Last week, the singer and model concluded her testimony in the United States v. Sean “Diddy” Combs trial, alleging that she was beaten and often forced to participate in drug-fueled “freak-offs” throughout her relationship with the disgraced music mogul. The exes dated from 2007 until 2018.
Brown Simpson was allegedly murdered by her ex-husband, O.J. Simpson, but after a year-long trial, the NFL player and actor was acquitted in 1995.
