Nicki Minaj reposted a livestream interview featuring Demoree Hadley and political commentator Xavier DuRousseau, aligning herself with Hadley’s claims that Roc Nation has weaponized its power to silence dissent and control narratives, including her own.
Hadley, the estranged daughter of Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, filed a lawsuit accusing her mother of orchestrating her involuntary commitment to a mental health facility under Florida’s Baker and Marchman Acts.
In the interview, Hadley said Minaj is facing similar tactics.
“They’ve [Roc Nation] abused her [Nicki Minaj’s] freedom of speech, they’ve abused her family, they’ve attacked her husband, they’ve attacked her child…It should really scare the American people,” Hadley said.
“Me, it should really scare you guys, too, right? Because I’m the daughter, so it’s like, at this point, if it’s happening to me, I think she’s really outspoken and I’m grateful that she’s being outspoken on it because I think she’s almost saying it like, ‘well, it happened to me, it’s happening to her, let me speak up on it, nobody is safe right now,” Hadley added.

The complaint claims Perez created a network of individuals to carry out a campaign of harassment, including false imprisonment and defamation. According to an 11-page memo from the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, Perez’s allegations lacked supporting evidence.
“As an outsider looking in with parallels to my case and some of the things I’ve read about her situation, it’s concerning, it’s frightening, and I do think there is enough to speculate, allegedly, that Roc Nation probably, most likely, abused their platform and their influence to kind of, you know, tarnish Nicki Minaj’s image,” Hadley added.
Nicki Minaj unleashed her grievances with Roc Nation on June 19 when she posted a string of cryptic tweets accusing the company of sabotage and manipulation.
She used hashtags like #PaidMoles and phrases such as “Order in the court,” suggesting legal misconduct and industry interference. She also alleged that Roc Nation CEO Perez had her own daughter committed under false pretenses.
Nicki Minaj’s criticism of Roc Nation isn’t new. She’s had a long-running feud with Megan Thee Stallion, one of the label’s top artists.
The tension escalated after the NFL selected Kendrick Lamar for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show over Lil Wayne, a decision Nicki Minaj publicly criticized, especially since the event took place in Wayne’s hometown of New Orleans.
Nicki Minaj also hinted that Twitter had removed the ability to see liked posts as part of a broader effort to suppress her voice, implying surveillance and digital censorship.
Demoree Hadley was released from Life Skills South Florida in April 2025. Perez has denied all allegations in a countersuit against her daughter and her husband, Javon Hadley, which the couple disputes.
