With the release of his new album MASA, which stands for Make America Slime Again, YoungBoy Never Broke Again shouted out President Donald Trump after the rapper received a pardon from him earlier this year.
On the track “XXX,” which can be heard alongside its music video above, YoungBoy namedrops Trump at the end of the song’s first verse. “Make America slimey again,” he raps. “Whatever Trump doin’, bitch, it’s good for the youngins.” Additionally, the video sees him performing in front of a green American flag, while someone else dances in front of graffiti that reads, “All hail Trump.”
The Baton Rouge rapper was among eight individuals, which also included former GOP Congressman Michael Grimm, who were granted clemency by the Trump administration back in May. He was released from prison earlier this year but was originally scheduled to be released in July. After securing his freedom, he promptly announced a new album and his first-ever headlining tour.
“I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building – as a man, as a father, and as an artist,” YoungBoy said in a post shared on Instagram in May. “This moment means a lot. It opens the door to a future I’ve worked hard for and I am fully prepared to step into this.”
He also personally thanked Pardon Czaz Alice Marie Johnson and his lawyer, Brittany K. Barnett. “Thank you to everyone who believed in me,” he added.
