Megan Thee Stallion’s lawyers say Milagro Cooper, the blogger she sued last year, destroyed evidence by deleting “thousands of messages” from her phone. Among them were communications between the defendant and Tory Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson.
In court documents related to a recent hearing viewed by Complex, Megan’s lawyers cite Cooper’s alleged “deletion of communications, including those with Sonstar Peterson” as one of several concerns they have about the discovery process.
“Despite good faith attempts at conferral, Defendant has presented no well-reasoned explanation for the mass deletion of thousands of messages from her cell phone,” Megan’s lawyers write in the docs, dated Aug. 6. A re-deposition of Lanez is also mentioned in the docs, as is one for Caesar McDowell, Tory’s lawyer.
The hearing itself took place on Thursday (Aug. 5). In another Florida court document, a screenshot from Cooper’s phone is mentioned among exhibits, with the screenshot said to show a “deleted folder” related to Tory’s father.
News of Megan taking legal action against Cooper first broke last October, with the blogger, also known as Milagro Gramz on social media, being accused of a “campaign of harassment and cyberbullying” related to Lanez’s 2022 shooting conviction.
“It’s time to hold bloggers accountable for years of harassment, cyberbullying, and the publication of misinformation about my personal and professional life,” Megan said in a statement shared at the time. “I’ve endured countless attacks on my character based on false narratives from social media bloggers misrepresenting themselves as journalists. It’s unacceptable behavior and these individuals need to understand there will be repercussions for recklessly posting lies and defamatory falsehoods.”
In 2023, Tory Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with George Gascón, then serving as Angeles County District Attorney, commending Megan for her “incredible bravery and vulnerability” during the much-publicized case.
