Lizzo has admitted to briefly using Ozempic as part of her “weight release journey,” but hasn’t relied on it long-term.
The four-time Grammy winner, who was spoofed in a South Park episode about the medication, spoke about Ozempic on a new episode of the Just Trish podcast.
Around the 13-minute mark of the video below, Lizzo told host Trish Paytas that she’s “tried everything” and that the “science” for her is “calories in versus calories out.”
“Ozempic works because you eat less food,” Lizzo said. “It makes you feel full. So if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it’s the same shit.”

The “Love In Real Life” artist added that a part of quickly feeling full while eating was no longer being vegan, because she was “consuming a lot of fake meats.”
“I was eating a lot of bread, I was eating a lot of rice, and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full,” she said. “But really I was consuming like 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day.”
Lizzo’s also shared her fitness progression on TikTok over the last year but refuses to share how much weight she’s lost.
“I’ve just seen a lot of TikToks where it’s like, ‘Lizzo talks about her 500-pound weight loss,” she said in an episode of Hollywood Unlocked earlier this month. “I was like, ‘Yo, why are y’all putting numbers on me?”
