Karanyi Sounds has released Cloudmax Breeze Black Edition, an AI-powered vocal reverb plugin for macOS and Windows. It’s available for free for a limited time on Black Friday.
We announced this a few days ago, and if you grab it now during the Black Friday promo, you’ll pay nothing. After the promo window closes, it becomes a $49 product, so it’s definitely worth claiming while it’s free.
I went through the registration process today, and it’s pretty smooth. You visit the promo page, enter your name and email, and that’s it. You will immediately get the download links for macOS and Windows on the next page, plus your license key.
There’s no confirmation email or extra steps like that. After installing the plugin, load it in your DAW, paste in the key, and you’re good to go.
The developer notes that if the key shows up as invalid, double-check that you didn’t accidentally copy a space at the beginning or end.
Cloudmax Breeze Black Edition is pitched as a neural vocal enhancer, which sounds impressive but doesn’t really explain much.
In practice, though, the plugin is pretty useful. You get three tone-shaping controls (Space, Crisp, and Heat) and a large macro knob that adjusts all three at once.
I really liked this approach while testing. You basically dial in the individual parameters to set the general character, then use the big macro control to push the overall intensity up or down without upsetting the balance of the three effects.
Space acts like a reverb/delay hybrid that gives vocals atmosphere and depth. Crisp adds top-end air, and Heat introduces presence with a bit of saturation.
This demo of the original version (not the Black Edition) will give you some idea about the workflow.
Each control can go from subtle to almost over the top, and once you’ve got the balance right, the macro knob essentially becomes your main fader. This is very handy if you want to quickly tame harshness or push a vocal forward in the mix.
There are a handful of presets, too. It’s not a massive library, but they point you toward the plugin’s intended use cases like parallel chains, spoken word, atmospherics, and so on.
One preset even encourages you to “Try This on Synths,” which I guess is a reminder that vocal tools aren’t really limited to vocals. I ran it on a couple of pads as a saturator, and, no surprise, it sounded nice (and didn’t turn my synth into a singer).
The interface is pretty slick. There’s a small animation that’s just fun to look at, and you can resize the window to fit your display. Input and output meters are included, which earns bonus points from me.
Overall, and especially as a freebie, this is a useful vocal enhancer. It’s super quick to use and modern-sounding. And it’s a thoughtful Black Friday gift from Karanyi Sounds, who are also running up to 80% off their full lineup right now.
Cloudmax Breeze Black Edition is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 format. You can download it for free after registering your email.
