50 Cent’s recent legal battle didn’t end with a cash reward, but rather a public apology.
According to TMZ, Fif’s seven-figure lawsuit against Maksud Agadjani was dismissed on Monday, roughly seven months after the G-unit boss sued the NYC jeweler for trademark infringement. Days after the ruling, Maksud — owner of TraxNYC — shared a public statement expressing regret for his unauthorized use of 50’s name and likeness in social media posts.
“I’m writing to express my sincere and heartfelt apology,” the note began. “I acknowledge that I used your name, image, and other intellectual property rights to advertise, market, and sell my jewelry products without your permission. To be clear, I do not have and never had any affiliation with you or endorsement by you.”
Agadjani claimed he had removed all 50 Cent-related content from all his social media platforms and vowed never to use the 50 Cent brand to promote his business.
“I respect you, your rights, and your brand, and I deeply regret my poor judgment and take full responsibility for my actions,” the statement continued. “I hope that you and your fans can accept my sincere apology and forgive me.”
50 sued Agadjani for $5 million in October 2024, after the jeweler used the rapper’s name and image to sell cross pendants that looked almost identical to the one 50 Cent often wears.
“50 Cent got this new cross that I like, and guess what I did? I made it. Why not?” the jeweler said in a since-deleted video. “50, thank you for the inspiration. You’re a true gentleman. I’m sure you won’t mind… I don’t wear 50 got his, but I know where I got mine — from him.”
Needless to say, Fif wasn’t happy about the promotional video: “You will regret doing this I promise,” he commented on social media.
“Yo don’t you got better things to worry about,” read a reply from the TraxNYC page.
Agadjani and his company were among the five defendants listed in 50’s lawsuit. According to AllHipHop, a judge dismissed the complaints against Agadjani, TraxNYC Corp, Yashu Sean Kumar, and Ivan Gonzalez with prejudice, meaning 50 Cent cannot refile the claim. However, the case against co-defendant Melisa Kulla was dismissed without prejudice, which allows Fif to pursue another case.
