Jamie Foxx has addressed the conspiracy theory that Diddy was responsible for his medical emergency in 2023.
In a chat with fellow comedians Hasan Minhaj, Chelsea Handler, Roy Wood Jr., Seth Meyers, and Sarah Silverman for The Hollywood Reporter, Foxx opened up about his time in the hospital and said he was often cracking jokes to keep up his spirits. “I was doing so many jokes in the hospital,” he said. “That’s the only way I could get through it. I’m a comic, so even when I was heavily sedated, and they gave me OxyContin, Dilantin, and morphine at the same time…”
Minhaj interjected to say that Foxx was given “that Sackler special,” and he recalled that he was given a lot of drugs to help with his pain.

“They Men in Black-ed me, and I’m fucked up, and this isn’t funny, but I snuck in my phone because I didn’t know what the outside world was saying and I couldn’t get my mind around the fact that I had a stroke,” he continued. “I’m in perfect fucking shape. [I see things like,] ‘Puffy tried to kill me.’ No, Puffy didn’t try to kill me. When they said I was a clone, that made me flip. I’m sitting in the hospital bed, like, ‘These bitch-ass motherfuckers are trying to clone me.”
He also revealed that he once confronted one of his caregivers about the clone conspiracy theory.
“The next morning, I said, ‘I know what’s up, you’re trying to clone me and make me white so I’ll sell better overseas,'” he said. “The psychiatrist says, ‘Are you all right?’ And I say, ‘Am I all right or am I all white? I saw you trying to get the white motherfucking Jamie Foxx and it ain’t going to happen.’ He just calmly goes, ‘I think we’re going to lower your dosage.'”
