Now let’s get into what the plugins offer. Softube Bad Speaker is a lo-fi distortion plugin with three speaker modes: Portable Radio, Cassette Deck, and Hi-fi Speaker.
I have to say that having a hi-fi mode on a lo-fi speaker plugin is a bit of a lark, but the plugin can nonetheless add some real grit and character to a production.
Bad Speaker’s tonal tweaking options are very simple, and feature the following controls: Drive, bass/treble Tone, mono/wide Width, and wet/dry Mix.
I might add that despite the no-frills setup, when paired with the speaker selector, there’s quite a range of tones on tap.
Therefore, you can use the plugin for not only subtle tonal shaping but also for sound design.
UVI Digital Synsations Vol. 1 features four instruments made to deliver the sound of late ‘80s and ‘90s digital synths.
The devs have packed in more than 600 presets, and built the sound around the hardware and tones used by acts such as The Cure, Depeche Mode, Vangelis, Toto, and Brian Eno.
The freebie promo is not the only deal Audio Deluxe dropped recently.
