We all know that the Minimoog is exceptional for funky basslines (I love the plucky basses with less brightness), soaring leads, and more. And it’s no surprise that Universal Audio’s emulations sound authentic.
But another interesting aspect of UAD’s Minimoog is that it offers some plugin-only features, such as adjustable velocity sensitivity, which makes for a more expressive instrument.
I prefer emulations to stay faithful to the original hardware, but I don’t mind modern features that provide additional options rather than forcing a diversion from the original.
Minimoog includes a large collection of factory presets covering bass, lead, FX, percussion, and more; it’s everything from Kraftwerk to Parliament-Funkadelic to West Coast hip-hop.
At £25, UAD’s Minimoog is a great buy, and the additional freebie is the icing on the cake.
