Now onto the main course.
VPRE-73 Halloween Edition is inspired by one of the most classic preamp units in recording history.
We’re in saturation, vibe and tone country, but the Halloween Edition wants to take things a little further than the standard VPRE-73 model usually offered by Black Rooster Audio.
Control your drive with the gain knob and experiment with turning the exclusive crank multiplicator for a way more aggressive, or should I say spooky, sound. Multiply your gain load by five times for bone-rattling tones!
Control mud and rumble (even if it’s on Halloween?) in your signal with the high-pass knob and engage the high-shelf filter for presence and sheen.
When you’re finished dialling in your tone, gain stage your audio with the trim knob at the end.
There’s not much more to it, really. We all like a little saturation, but this thing can growl as well. Check out the additional crunch in this demo video:
