Former Bad Boy Records security head Gene Deal unleashed a fiery critique against Mase, accusing him of spreading lies and disrespecting the legacy of Notorious B.I.G.
In a recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Deal expressed outrage over Mase and Cam’ron allegedly laughing about Biggie’s security on the night of his death, asserting that “they not telling the truth” and are “leaving names out.” According to Deal, Mase had a “duty and an obligation” as Biggie’s labelmate to inform him that “these dudes want you dead.”
Deal detailed an incident prior to Biggie’s shooting where Mase and Stevie J attended a celebrity basketball game. Also in attendance were Crips, who allegedly explicitly told them they wanted Diddy and Biggie dead. While Mase informed Deal and Diddy, he “never mentioned a damn thing to Big.”
Deal also refuted Mase’s claims of being present or hiding in a room with Brandy when Biggie was killed. Back in 2023, Mase said he was hunted by several Bloods the night of Biggie’s death and waited for Deal to give him instructions. Deal also speculated Mase’s silence stemmed from a desire for Biggie’s “number one spot” on Bad Boy Records.
“He was not in the room with Brandy,” said Deal. “Cause he said, ‘Brandy was calling me trying to get me to go to the party with her.’ So you in the room with her, why is she calling you?”
He added, “They talking and laughing about security didn’t shoot and if the world’s greatest rapper number one on the label get killed, Mase said that his life don’t mean anything. Well, I guess Mase, you got that number one spot, or you wanted that number one spot ‘cause you didn’t tell Big. You didn’t tell Big, bro, and you still didn’t get the number one spot cause Diddy took it.”
He also corrected the narrative about security involvement that night, revealing that when Biggie was shot, his driver put the car in park and jumped out, and other security members like D-Rock and Paul ran. Deal emphasizes that Mase “wasn’t even there” and has no right to disrespect Bad Boy Records security.
Highlighting his own credibility, Deal shared an anecdote about advising underground rapper Maserati Fox, who tragically died a week after not heeding Deal’s safety counsel. Deal adamantly states he personally warned Biggie not to attend the party, telling him, “My man don’t go to this party one of y’all going to die tonight.”
