G Herbo wants media personalities like Akademiks and DJ Vlad to give back to Chicago communities that they cover in their videos.
The “Wayback” artist was a guest on the Wednesday (July 23) episode of the Adam Friedland Show, and around the 57-minute mark, was asked about content creators who have “made careers” off Chicago rappers. Friedland named Vlad as one of the personalities who’s “made money” off the coverage.
“I don’t give a fuck about that shit, but if I did, I would probably be like, ‘Cut me in,'” Herbo replied.
“I feel like all those kind of guys, what they should do is give to a nonprofit organization in Chicago,” he continued. I’mma challenge them to do that. Like, Akademiks, Vlad all you n***as that made money off the culture and people dying and bloodshed and shit like that, go donate $20,000 to $50,000 to a
nonprofit organization that focus on just the betterment of kids.”
When asked about Ak, Herbo says he’s “cool” with the podcaster but says that he doesn’t “agree with everything he does.”
But Friedland thought differently of Ak, accusing him of “sucking up to other men.”

“[H]e pick and choose when he want to be like a real n***a or aggressor, or say certain shit that’s just like your moral code should never allow you to say,” Herbo replied.
Friedland added that he’s putting Ak “on notice” to donate $100,000 to an organization of Herbo’s choice, with the rapper telling the podcaster to “pick one.”
“‘Cause you made so much money off this shit. Y’all go donate $100,000 and write that shit off on y’all taxes, bro,” he continued.
Friedland said that if Ak doesn’t fulfill the challenge, he’s a “bitch,” and that they can have an “intellectual” conversation about the matter on his webshow.
Nearly ten years ago, Vic Mensa confronted Ak on Complex’s show Everyday Struggle, calling the co-host a “bitch” for his sensationalized depiction of Chicago on YouTube.
